Need Wedding Hair Advice

I have a hair appt on Wednesday and I promised my stylist I'd decide by then what I want to do with my hair for my wedding. I think I'm probably just going to pull some of it up (leaving my bangs down cause I need hair in my face to feel secure and happy) in an antique barrette (I need a something old) and straighten the rest like I usually do. Because I want somewhat simple and I want to still look like me. But I foresee two problems with this. The hair that I'd pull back is kinda short because the hair around the top of my head is shorter and piecey. Though I guess I could just grow it (ugh, I'd rather cut than grow. I'm in a wanting to cut my hair off place right now.) a bit and it would probably be fine. And I need to know where to find a cute barrette!

But I figured other people might have hair ideas so I'd post pics of what my hair looks like now and you can give suggestions. Just bear in mind, I want simple and I want to still look like me, I'm not gonna do elaborate curls or anything like that. Also like I said, I'd rather cut than grow. So if you've seen a shorter cut that you think would be adorable do let me know. Or if you think I'm totally right about my pull back just a bit of hair in a barrette at the crown of my head  thing let me know. Oooh or maybe I should get a tiara and just straighten my hair like I usually do?

Yes, input please. I am overwhelmed and easily distracted.

This is the state of my hair currently:

How about some sort of a low neck bun? (now hear me out) Something messy, maybe a spiky, held with antique barrettes or old hair comb? I could help you look for one in vintage shops, if you want. That way you can have hair falling out and framing your face and not worrying about it looking overdone.

I think you should look for a vintage comb or tiara and wear your hair down. If you want to fancy it up a little, you could curl the ends. Easy-peasy and you'll look like you.

I like either the idea of a tiara or old antique hair clibs or combs/barrettes. There's that antique market they hold downtown; it should be starting up soon if it hasn't already. I've heard they have great stuff.

I like your idea - pulling it up with hair clips and letting some of it fall.. check US Weekly's and those hair mags for ideas.

For my wedding, I just put my hair in a high ponytail and let the veil do the rest. :)

Are you going with a veil?

Good luck!

Kathy- I don't have enough hair for a bun, I played with it after you suggested. But yes to barrette/haircomb/tiara shopping. Perhaps at the antique market Kimberly suggested? I'm not familiar with it, do you have more info, Kimberly?

Right now I am feeling Annika's suggestion the most bc it means I can do whatever I want in regards to cutting my hair in the meantime.

No veil, Keri. I think it would look a little weird with my casual dress. Tiara instead of veil is my new idea... My best friend did a tiara and she looked adorable... Wait she'd kill me for saying adorable. She looked bad ass. Totally bad-ass in a beautiful bride way :)

if you want shorter... that's also piecey (which i love) and good with color, i am lately a fan of the asymmetrical bob -- my friend has one and it's super cute and doesn't have to be too neat. here are some links to photos:
